About New World Learning / New World Clinic

www.NewWorldLearning.org and www.NewWorldClinic.com are sister sites founded independently by Gerald R. Stapleton who is also Director for Distance Education for the Department of Medical Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. The twin sites are intended to further discussion regarding the development of educational methods that utilize virtual environments. The New World Clinic site is especially focused on tools to improve communication skills for healthcare professionals. Interested individuals are welcome to join and participate in either or both sites. The founder reserves the right to delete postings that are inappropriate for a professional discussion of educational methods.

Journal of Virtual Worlds and Education

The Center for Virtual Worlds Education and Research has just published the first volume of the Journal of Virtual Worlds and Education.  The journal includes a number of interesting studies on the effectiveness of education in virtual environments.  The first issue is available for free download as a pdf file from http://jvwe.org.

NewWorld Winter Festival

Winter has arrived at the NewWorld Clinic. Time for a little snowy fun. Stop by the Pier Campus, grab some skates at the warming hut and take a spin around the ice rink. Enjoy a little hot cocoa and take in a really bad movie from the 60s called "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians". Then take a walk around the campus and chat with our staff.

Just Opened! Games and Simulation for Healthcare Library and Database

Eric Bauman and his colleagues ad the University of Wisconsin have just published a wonderful new resource for those who want to integrate games and simulation into their scholarship and patient care strategy.
